Do you have a project that requires precise drilling or cutting? Sure you could get the job done with the drill press and the band saw, but why struggle with those machines when you can do the same job more efficiently and accurately with the Bridgeport vertical mills?

Milling offers a variety of applications from prototyping to production; you can use the mills to cut, rout, drill, and tap a variety of metals and plastics. We’ve seen our members milling everything from locomotive parts to jewelry pendants!

Topics covered in this course include: general safety, material selection and set up, proper tool selection,  use of the digital meter, and feeds and speeds. The first portion of this class is lecture based with instructor demonstration followed by a free period of  hands on practice and Q&A.

This course is a prerequisite for the BOS- Tormach CNC Mill class.

A $10 materials fee covers each student’s metal stock.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork. Our shop can be a little tricky to find so we suggest giving yourself extra time for traffic and parking.

**Please wear closed-toe shoes. No sandals**
