Have you ever wanted to design and build your own 7-ply skateboard deck? Or are you curious about how to make bent wood laminations? In this hands-on two-part class, you’ll design, cut, and press your own skateboard deck! In Part 1, you’ll start by shaping your own foam mold that will be used to form seven 1/16” maple veneers into a skateboard shape. You’ll then glue and press the veneers using the Roarockit vacuum forming method. In Part 2, you’ll cut out your molded veneers into you desired shape, as well as drill and sand your deck. Sealing and artwork are not included as part of this workshop, but guidance will be provided. After class there will be an opportunity to place an order for discounted trucks, wheels, and other parts to complete your board.
