Introduces the student to the Hurricane 80 watt and 100 watt laser cutter and engraving tools and The principles of cutting and engraving via intense beams of laser light will be introduced. A classroom session will cover software preparation using CorelDraw, materials, thicknesses, speed and applied power. This will be followed by an instructor demonstration at the machine where students will learn how to operate the Hurricane laser cutters. Prerequisites: It is strongly recommended that students have a basic knowledge of how to create vector-based files (i.e- .ai, .eps, .dxf, .dwg, .cdr file extensions) before taking this class. If these file types are foreign to you, it is highly recommended that you attend the Intro to 2D Vector class before attending this class.
